Aisha is half Irish, half Syrian and was born and raised in the UK. Growing up around considerably different cultures often left her feeling as though she couldn’t be defined by just one, and that she didn’t fully belong or relate to any In 2020, she co-founded Culture Mocktail; a platform which unfolds and embraces what it means to be a cultural misfit. The platform’s mission is to help people build a deeper understanding of and connection to each part of their colourful cultural identities. It also works to create conversations which allow communities to develop a deeper understanding of themselves and of others

Project

Culture Mocktail is a platform which unfolds and embraces everything it means to be a cultural misfit; an individual who has meaningfully interacted with multiple cultures and feels as though they can’t be bound by the walls of just one. It delves into the positives and negatives of the experience and works to empower people and help them better understand and embrace their cultural identities and how their cultural influences have shaped them. It does this via engaging workshops and activities, as it helps participants to become better, more self-aware and self-accepting versions of themselves
