Bio

Carmen Salas is a journalist, freelance proofreader and writer from Barcelona who has been living in Andorra for more than six years. She works at El Periòdic d'Andorra, a job she combines with editing medical articles and writing. Journalism and literary creation are her two great passions. In the past, she has worked both in the media and in press departments. As a writer, she has published "Dime con quien trabajas y te diré con quien te acuestas" (Plaza&Janés), an essay on sexual relations in the workplace, and has also participated in the collective book "Que la vida iba en serio, relatos sobre una época en la que todo cambia" (Martínez Roca). In addition, she has won and been a finalist in several poetry awards. She is now working on her second collection of poems, as well as her first novel

Project

I am working on my first novel, a female-themed project in which, through the lives of three generations of women from the same family and through their family and professional lives, the reader will see how their room for action has changed in terms of freedoms and rights, but also how there are still many aspects to be improved in some of the roles developed, such as maternity. I am now immersed in the research and writing of the first manuscript, and I would use the residency to do a review and second draft in order to present it for publication at the end of 2023.
