Bio
David Alesina Pugés is a director and art director currently living in Barcelona. After obtaining his degree in Biology, he decided to pursue his artistic curiosity by studying Photojournalism (IEFC) and Documentary Photography (CFD) while he was working as an instructor for young people and adults under social exclusion risk. In 2020 he was selected by ESCAC to take part in the Master's Degree in Cinema Direction, where his final master's project, ANASTATICA, was selected by a jury to be funded by the school. His first short film, SOLO FUE UN RATO (2021), self-financed and self-produced during his master's degree, has been selected in several Spanish festivals. David currently combines his job as an instructor with his work as a director and assistant director for short films and music videos. He is also finishing postproduction for his second short film, LA ROCA SALVATGE (2022) and his most ambitious project, ANASTATICA (2022).
Project
I am taking part in the Connecta residency in Palma, Mallorca, with my latest short film ANASTATICA, in order to receive guidance on the distribution process. Anastatica is a short film that talks about death, forgiveness and motherly love by means of a story set in a dystopian universe, where the sea plays a key role in people's deaths.
