Bio
In 2018 she codirects and cowrites "El vent és això" –which is premiered internationally at the Tallinn Black Nights Festival–, a full-length fiction film which arises from an initiative at the Santiago Sobrequès High School, under the guidance of Pere Vilà –the other codirector– which reflects on eating disorders and features Laia Manzares, Àlex Brendemühl and Anna Alarcón in its cast. The film was premiered both at the Temporada Alta Festival and at the D’A Film Festival in Barcelona. She is currently in the post-production stage of "Connexions", a documentary short film which follows several female athletes in their daily lives. She has recently received a scholarship from the Support Programme for Audiovisual and Cinema Projects of the Girona Film Office to carry out "Resilients", her solo opera prima. Moreover, Comas has worked as a screenwriter, script and assistant director for Pere Vilà in his fiction full-length film "Gangrena", which is now in the post-production stage. In September 2022 Comas obtained her degree in Audiovisual Communication at the University of Giron
Project
"Connexions" tells the story of AIDA (23), a former athlete who had a promising future in elite sports. However, a very serious injury makes her part with competitions and leave both her friends and the high performance centre behind. Over time she lost touch with them but a series of connections will make them meet again in a very special way. During my stay at Faber I will work on learning more about distribution and the final production stage in order to implement it in "Connexions". I will also absorb new artistic techniques and work methods which will help me broaden my knowledge for future projects.
During my stay at Faberllull Palma, I wanted to work on acquiring knowledge on distribution and on the last stages of production in order to apply it to Connexions. Besides, I was willing to learn more about new artistic techniques and working methods that would help me broaden my knowledge for future projects.
In the residency we had two masterclasses on distribution and marketing, two production masterclasses, a project presentation with professionals from the local industry and the masterclass with an international filmmaker.
Being part of the Connecta II residency has given me the opportunity to meet and network with industry members, as well as emerging filmmakers with whom a lasting bond has been built and joint projects are being created. Besides, I’d like to highlight the added value for my project of being selected for a residency before its distribution. A good proof of this is the follow-up and connection built with Faberllull and my being selected for a residency in Olot to continue developing Resilients, my upcoming film. On the other hand, the knowledge acquired throughout the residency has motivated me to continue my production studies.
