Bio

Àlex Arroyo (2001) is an audiovisual producer and filmmaker from Ciutadella, Menorca. Together with Ensoldemà Films he makes his debut with the short film "sol sol", selected in over 30 international festivals and broadcast on IB3 (TV channel from the Balearic Islands). He has directed music videos for Verlaat and Carles Pauné, and has participated in shootings for Ginestà, Massaviu and Lluc. He is a freelance editor and local producer in Menorca for brands such as Seat, Oysho and Loro Piana, after receiving training at Es FAR Cultural and being in his last year of his BSc (Hons) Television and Broadcasting Degree at University of Portsmouth.

Project

"si s'amor no és això, que m'assassinin" is a story about a specific conception of life. From a teen, naive point of view, it shows impassioned, free love, the kind that makes your heart shrink and that stays forever in your mind. It discusses falling in love, falling out of love and getting your heart broken. And pain turning into admiration and (more) love. It is a mature story about two teenagers who learn not to get hurt. My stay at the residency can be summed up with opening my heart even more. I will romanticise the experience and make the most of it in order to consolidate this first full-length film.
