Bio

Born in 1950 in Zaragoza, he completed high school studies in Paris and later graduated in Economic Sciences at the University of Zulia (Venezuela). He also studied directing at the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona and a year at the Conservatoire National Supérieur D'Art Dramatique de Paris.

From 1982, the year in which he moved to Barcelona, he worked with the children's company U de Cuc until 1989. Later, with Victor Suañez, he created the group Alvic Teatre in 1989, with which he worked as a director , actor and pedagogue. This work resulted in the inauguration of the Tantarantana Theater in 1992, which has remained active for the last 30 years. Since 2017, with the purchase of the Tantarantana headquarters building by Icub, it has become part of Barcelona City Council's Creation Factories. For 25 years, he has been the artistic director of the theater's programming and has been in charge of the production of more than 60 shows produced or co-produced by Tantarantana. Now one of his activities is with the International Dramaturgy Project - Mediterranean which is part of the international Tantarantana Program.

Project

After the three experiences carried out within the same program with playwrights from different Latin American countries and Catalonia, we are now moving to the Mediterranean area. On behalf of Tantarantana, I will coordinate the work with the Teatre Principal de Parma, Espacio Inestable de Mallorca and La Chartreuse –Centre national des écritures du spectacle de Villeneuve-lès-Avignon, France. I will follow up on the work done in this first workshop at FaberLlull and a second one planned for 2023 at La Chartreuse, until the publication of the texts created with this polluting work process in the Red Escena Magazine in Valencia.
