Bio

Monica is an independent anthropologist, journalist and author based in Copenhagen. She published her autobiographic monography Barnløshed, adoption og et kulørt familieliv – fra din mave til min favn based on her experience of infertility, the adoption of her two daughters and the questions and comments from her surroundings. Monica is dedicated to tell stories of everyday thinking and living by using her curios anthropological eyes. Her point of departure is always close to the people whose livelihood she is investigating and communicating about.

Project

I will work on an autofiction that centers on the encounter with sickness and death and the existential reflections and choices that follow. Death is often seen as the end of something. In my narrative – taking the death of my parents as the point of departure- it becomes a beginning. Working title of project: Till death sets us free.
