Bio
Director of Linguapax, teacher and independent researcher. She read Political and International Sciences in her homeland, Sardinia, and made her Erasmus stay at the Universitatea din București, Romania. She holds a MA in Political Science from the UAB (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona) and was a visiting student at the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés and the Colectivx Chi’xi in La Paz, Bolivia. She has been Teaching and Research Assistant at the UAB and teacher of Social Science and History in secondary schools in Catalonia. She speaks and promotes the Sardinian language but is also polyglot and a true enthusiast of linguistic and cultural diversity
Project
I lead a team of researchers working on the project “La langue des oiseaux”. During the stay, we will work on a research study on the Obstacles and Opportunities for Migrants and Refugees’ Artistic Development in Europe. We will present a tentative analysis of the evidence collected during the international workshops on performing arts made so far and conduct interviews and focus groups with the artists and trainees of these workshops to delve deeper into their perspectives. We will also work on the drawing up and implementation of monitoring and evaluation tools for the whole project in terms of scientific usefulness.
The stay in the Faberllull Residency in Olot was an unique opportunity to intensively work on our project. Logistics favored an efficient time management and the continuity of conversations between the time spent on work, meals and after-dinner talks. The comfortable facilities, the large space available and the magical surroundings of the Garrotxa gave us the chance to choose different locations for our various activities: formal and videoconference sessions in the meeting room; concentration and relaxation exercises and more dynamic sessions outdoors or at the sofas at the entrance; and informal conversations, accompanied by coffee or tea, in a more cozy and intimate space. We were able to share our worries and goals with people in the local community, enjoy an exciting concert and pleasant walks in the natural environment of the residency. Pepa and Gavina have made us feel at home and made sure we were always well cared for. We hope we get the opportunity to repeat this experience soon!
