Bio
An-Magritt Ahn is a translator in the field of philosophy, a Ph.D. student in contemporary philosophy and a research assistant at the Research Group “Aporia” (UB). She studied at Vrije Universiteit Brussel and Université Paris 8. In 2018 she graduated with a Master’s degree in Contemporary Thought and Classical Tradition from Universitat de Barcelona. In addition, she is a German language instructor and recently taught the “Introductory course in reading German philosophical texts”. She has translated into German: Josep Maria Esquirol, “La resistència íntima: assaig d’una filosofia de la proximitat”, (“Der Intime Widerstand: Eine Philosophie der Nähe”, Felix Meiner Verlag, Hamburg, 2021.). Her current translation project is the same author's essay, “Humà més humà: Una antropologia de la ferida infinita” (Quaderns Crema, 2021).
Project
During my stay at Faber I’d like to work on my current project: the translation of Josep Maria Esquirol’s latest book, “Humà més humà”, which represents the most recent of a series of essays in which the author proposes a reflection on the human condition: a philosophical anthropology, starting from the radical vulnerability of the human and the idea of care. I will work on excerpts from the first two chapters, in which the most significant challenges are: the articulation of the concepts and implicit references to many other classical and contemporary thinkers and the peculiar style of the author, which seeks simplicity and depth.
