Bio

Pau Joan Hernández de Fuenmayor, PhD in Translation Studies and Intercultural Studies from the UAB, is a writer and translator, as well as a lecturer in the faculties of Translation and Interpretation at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and Universitat Pompeu Fabra, where he teaches seminars on book translation. children's and illustrated album. As a translator (starting languages: Catalan, Spanish, Basque, French and Galician), he has published more than 300 books and has received several national (Crítica Serra d'Or 2008 —and twice as a writer) and international (UBBY Honour List IBBY 2006 and 2008 and Premio del Banco del Libro de Venezuela 2016.

Project

Invited by the Institut Etxepare, as part of the conference dedicated to fostering contact between translators of Basque poetry into other languages, I will work on translating a selection of poems by Miren Agur Meabe, from Basque to Catalan.
