Bio

Doctor in Geology from the University of Barcelona, volcanologist and postdoctoral researcher at the Geophysics Institute at UNAM since 2016. His research areas are volcanic activity and the risks to residents. A specialist in physical volcanology and geothermal and geophysical exploration applied to volcanic terrain, he is currently involved in twelve international projects: seven on physical volcanology in Spain and Mexico, one on geothermal exploration in Latin America, three on palaeoclimate in volcanic lakes in Catalonia and recently in Vietnam, and one on Antarctic volcanism. He has published 23 international studies as a result of these collaborations. He also organised the 7th International Maar Conference in May 2018 in Olot, with more than 120 participants from 25 countries. He has also created outreach materials on volcanoes for indigenous local communities in volcanic regions, including the documentary “Parícutin. Al Otro Lado”, which he co-directed and produced.

Project

During my stay, I will participate in the ninth international volcanology course, take part in the roundtable discussions during the volcanism sessions and build partnerships with the researchers invited by Faberllull.
