Bio

Social analyst and expert in change management. Chairman of Catesco–former Center for UNESCO of Catalonia, and Coordinator of Educational Innovation and Extension Projects at UPF. Founder of the Alliance for education change "Escola Nova 21" (2016-19), which gathered half a thousand Catalan schools. He has also led a university program for the professional development of teachers (UVic-UOC). PhD in Political and Social Sciences (UPF) on “Global Citizenship Education”; MA in Social Sciences (UChicago); BA in Philosophy (UB); and AMP (IESE). He wrote the book World Scouting: Educating for Global Citizenship (Palgrave MacMillan, 2012). He has been Director of the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics (2006-12), two-years Visiting Scholar at New York University, two-years Research Fellow of Fitzwilliam College at the University of Cambridge, and Chief of Staff of the Ministry for Universities and Research of the Government of Catalonia.

Project

During my stay in Faberllull in Olot, I will work on an essay book that wants to reflect on education and learning linked to life, and in this case interweaving the reflection with my own personal experiences. Learning to learn, yes, but also to know and to do, and to be and to live together, to finally learn to become, from a vision of freedom as the capacity to choose to define one's life project.
