Bio
Professor António Brum da Silveira is a geologist since 1983 and teaches at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon since 1986. He has carried out research activity in oceanic volcanic islands (Madeira, Azores, Cape Verde Archipelagos) and on Tertiary and Quaternary continental sedimentary basins in mainland Portugal (Alentejo). His research fields are Volcanostratigraphy and Geological Mapping, Neotectonics, Geohazards, Geomorphology, and Geological Heritage. He is the first author of the Geologic Map of Madeira Island (1:50.000 scale) and the Geoheritage Inventory of Madeira Archipelago. Presently, he collaborates with the Regional Government of Madeira Autonomous Region as a scientific adviser and coordinator of the Geodiversity internet site.
Project
During my stay at Faber I will work with Joan Martí (ICTJA-CSIC Barcelona) group and I will make a presentation about The GeoHeritage of Madeira Archipelago.
