Project

I am developing the script of Criatures, a film that wants to explore the different styles of parenting that have been growing in recent years. A dramedy that wants to adress these realities with two characters that have the desire to be a parent, but who will need to collaborate to achieve their wish.

Being a parent today is open to a lot more people than ever before. Gay couples adopting, lesbian couples getting pregnant, single mothers getting pregnant or single fathers adopting. Times have changed in the last decades because of progress in science and also with progress of new rights for parents in some countries

We should celebrate that there is an initiative like this. The development of screenwriting is a job that is generally not being paid, and to have the opportunity for institutions to detect this lack and offer an opportunity to develop this work is a relevant decision to highlight and applaud. Without good scripts there are no good films.

The residency has been a fantastic time to develop one's own project and to share it with tutors and peers, a space for personal work but also for socialising among peers with the same concerns and worries. A highly recommendable initiative for anyone who needs to get away from the daily routine in order to get into writing in depth with the project.

I am convinced that we will see great films from this first edition of film scripts at Faberllull. And I hope that this residency will continue in time to support screenwriters who need these calls to be able to devote quality time to generate good films.
