Actress and writer

Àngels Bassas graduated in Performing Arts from the Drama School ESAD-Institut del Teatre, in Barcelona. As a theater, tv and cinema actress she has won many awards, including Spanish Critics Award in 1996 for her acting on Molière’s play Anfitrión, and again in 1998 for her work as Miss Julie in Strindberg’s play, and the Max Award in 2005 as best supporting actress for her acting in King Lear. She has given interpreting lessons at several university schools.

As a writer, in 2013 she created the character Patatu, who has become the main character of several children books and plays. She has also written 5 theatre plays, and in 2015 she was shortlisted for the Josep Pla Literature Award in 2015 with her novel Dóna’t (Edicions 62, 2016).

At Faber I intend to find quality time for my writing. I will be working on my next novel, specially the revision of the text. If I have enough time, I’ll be also working on my next theatre play, called Casting. The perfect partner, which I already began a month ago. I am also very interested on the exchange of ideas and projects with the other national and international residents, an interesting opportunity to find new synergies.
