Project
My time at Faber will be spent examining and rethinking schooling in relation to new advancements in the field of neuroscience, specifically the idea of neuro-plasticity. I am interested in two aspects of the topic. First, I am interested in the impact that neuro-plasticity portends for education policy, specifically the impact on issues of equity, access, privacy and governance. Second, I am interested Catherine Malabou’s (2012) idea of ‘cerebrality’, in her book The New Wounded, as a way to map and understand ideas of trauma in education policy and practice.
