From Monday, 16 November 2020 to Monday, 23 November 2020
Bio
Jordi is a psychologist from the University of Barcelona. His two main interests converge in dreams: the study of consciousness and creativity (he has been an actor, dancer, comic book author, illustrator, musician, singer…). He received the teachings of Tibetan Dream Yoga from Lama Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche in various retreats. A regular contributor to different radio programs, he has advised and participated in the series of 13 programs Somiers (TV3), devoted entirely to dreams, and has co-written the script for the film Volare directed by Joaquin Oristrell. He has been a member of the teaching team of the Institut de Psicologia Transpersonal de Barcelona and, for years, has been offering a professional training in Dream Integration for psychologists and psychotherapists, the first in Spain dedicated exclusively to working with dreams therapeutically. Representative in Spain of the International Association for the Study of Dreams, he is a member of its Board of Directors since 2012 and of its Educational Committee, as well as Global Representative for Latin America and Europe.
Project
During my Faber residency I will work on the design, structure and content of two workshops in online format. My intention is to finish them so I can incorporate them into the online school we have on the mondesomnis website. From this platform I have been offering various activities for more than 20 years with the aim of spreading the benefits of establishing a close relationship with our dreams. The first of these workshops will be dedicated to the therapeutic exploration of nightmares and the second to foster the experience of lucid dreams.
DREAMS, SPACES AND SYNERGIES
When I heard about Faber, I felt that it was a gift from heaven.
I had just been commissioned by a British publisher to write a book -on a subject that fascinates me: lucid dreams- and this project required a space that would allow concentration, impossible to find at home .
Immediately, I applied for a residency and Faber granted it to me ... but outside the time frame I needed to write the book.
I waited a few months before I could enjoy the experience at Faber and in the meantime the world turned upside down due to the coronavirus. As a consequence of the pandemic, the publishing house that had commissioned the book went bankrupt.
The experience in Faber, dedicated among other projects to the design of an online workshop and the writing of an article, has been fantastic. I found the time and the silence I needed. I have also been able to oxygenate myself with walks in the countryside and the surrounding forests. And, as if that wasn't enough, I have been inspired by the conversations during the dinners with my travel companion, the writer Ada Castells, with whom we devised a new project which combines two themes that we are both passionate about: the unconscious and creativity. So, the original reason why I contacted Faber was not the main focus of the residency but, as I felt at first knowing of your existence, meeting you first hand has been a real gift.
