Project

Tombeau will be a solo piece for cello. The premier will be held at La Pedrera’s auditorium (Barcelona) on March 17, 2019 by Roger Morelló. The work, a meditative and intimate tombeau, will be inspired by the viola da gamba music of the barroque français having in mind key composers of the genre such as M. de Sainte-Colombe or Marin Marais. To further approximate the sound of these two instruments the cello will have a scordatura in the 4th string from C to B, that is a semitone down.
