Bio
Born in the Baix Llobregat, from a working class, the first generation of his family that could go to the university. He is an experienced political scientist in data analysis, in the political elections and the analysis of economics. He works with tools such as R, SPSS, and he knows web programming, vector design, graphics and maps for the visualization of data. He has been a political consultant for many years, targeting election campaigns, voting positions, analyzing electoral behaviour and doing quantitative surveys. Currently he works as an analyst for social and economic data at Creacció. He likes to work with large databases to get closer to reality to be able to act.
Project
The project in which I will work is a project linked to the study of mobility. It involves building a methodological design of the mobility analysis of a territory with urban dispersion. The work includes a part of bibliographic research on similar cases, the definition of the territorial and social scope (segment and collapse), the construction of a sample with territorial representation and the definition of possible collaborating agents. In addition, the objective is to establish an action plan (chronology, contacts and collaborations) and a survey design. We will use the model in Osona but the objective is to build a model of analysis applicable in other territories.
Our stay at Faber
We are Sandra and Sergi, technicians of the Observatori Socioeconòmic d’Osona. We arrived to the Faber residency with a lot of expectations, we wanted to concentrate and work together on a mobility study that we wanted to develop in the Osona region. This challenge arose as a result of diverse studies and reflections with different agents of the territory that marked the needs to develop an integral project that tied the territorial reality of the region. The reason why we chose to go to the Faber residency was precisely, on the one hand, to disconnect from the most mechanical dynamics of everyday, we could focus on this project, and on the other hand, to share experience with other people to enrich our vision of the project.
The first impression we had was quite nice, since unlike what we expected, more than disconnecting, we connected and shared meeting places with other residences. That allowed us to acquire different points of view about our work. The environment to work also invited to go to the Fageda forest to get full of ideas after submerging in this natural place. The intensity of the discussions was combined with the tranquility of the area, the warmth of its restaurants, streets and squares of the city of Olot.
We were able to finish our mobility project, we managed to break the routine dynamics to be able to deepen into a stay of inspiration, debate and joint work. We recommend the experience, because we work hardly and we meet very interesting people.
