Bio
Pau Bossacoma is currently lecturer in constitutional law and administrative law at Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) and legal advisor of the Catalan Government. He is a member of the Evolution of Institutions Observatory (OBSEI) and of the Edinburgh Centre for Constitutional Law. He holds a degree in law and another in political science. He has a master’s degree in legal science and a PhD in law. He has written several academic books, chapters and papers on constitutionalism, democracy, citizenship, self-determination, secession, sovereignty and territorial autonomy.
Project
I aim to reflect on difficulties and problems of unilateral secession in contexts of liberal democracy such as polarization, non-recognition, coercion, anarchy, legal uncertainty and establishing new authorities.
