From Tuesday, 22 October 2019 to Wednesday, 30 October 2019
Bio
Maddie studied as an undergraduate at the University of Toronto where she majored in sexual diversity studies and minored in both aboriginal studies and english literature. She then went on to complete her masters degree in women and gender studies at Trinity College Dublin. At present, Maddie is a second-year PhD student in the organization studies group at the University of Edinburgh Business School. Maddie locates her doctoral research at the axis between organization, technology, and gender. She is keen to explore ways of communicating, teaching, and writing outside of dominant academic practices. Her broader research interests include intersectionality, gender and work, recruitment, company culture, and toxic techno-cultures.
Project
During my time at Faber I will be working on a chapter of my PhD dissertation. My writing process is demanding in unique ways, because I strive to “write differently”, drawing on feminist practices. I also hope to present my work locally to both academic and artistic communities. Through this residency I aim to more holistically engage with writing, share my practice, and receive constructive feedback.
