MARINA VARVARA ZERVA
From Monday, 2 March 2020 to Sunday, 8 March 2020
Bio
Marina Varvara Zerva (1991) grew up in Kalamata, in the South of Greece. From her early years she attended classes about theater, ballet, contemporary dance and music (chorus and piano). She studied Theater in the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and then she continued her studies in London International School of Performing Arts (currently ArthHaus Berlin) in Advanced Devised Theater and Performance, in Berlin. She has worked as a performer, actress and theater educator with kids (5 to 12 years old). She is creating her own work as a theater maker, between Athens and Berlin. In her work she’s attracted by movement patterns, abstract contexts, clown, the position and the shapes of the bodies in the space and scenography.
Project
During my stay in Faber residency, I would like to revisit the basis of the project with fresh point of view and to connect with the theme through physical theatre. I’m interested to work collectively, through devising work, improvisations, movement and text, with the aim to create new material that’s gonna inspire us and let the project grow in a direction of a long length piece.
