Robotics and programming for education 2026
From Wednesday, 6 May 2026 to Wednesday, 13 May 2026
May 2026
A group of teachers, designers and creators of educational tools from around the world will meet at Faberllull Olot to promote creative learning experiences in educational programming and robotics based on STEAM and Maker projects. This is the ninth year in a row they will meet at the residency.
Many of the participants already share projects throughout the year, connecting remotely from their respective countries, but the personal and intensive meet-up at Faberllull Olot serves to advance and pool their projects. During the week, they will rethink the teaching and purpose of computer science, aim to connect the physical and virtual worlds by seeking better integration of the Maker tools already on the market (Snap!, MicroBlocks, Snap4Ardiuno, TurtleStitch...), and reflect on the challenges of computer science education in the era of artificial intelligence.
The reflections that arise from the meeting will be shared at Robolot 2026 by participating in the STEAMakers Project Fair on Friday, 8 May, and the Innovation Day in Programming and Robotics on Saturday, 9 May, which this year celebrates its 25th anniversary.
Educational Programming and Robotics, part of the creative learning by doing paradigm, brings together a wealth of proposals, methodologies and essential content in current curricular projects. Programming makes it possible to approach any project that leverages the digital world from a creative, experimental, cooperative, free and critical viewpoint. Robotics, by contrast, leads children to interact directly with their immediate environment, discover it, experiment, create artifacts and find real propositions and solutions.
