Robotics and programming for education 2025

May 2025

For the eighth year in a row, a passionate group of teachers, designers and creators of educational tools from all over the world will meet at Faberllull Olot to promote creative learning experiences in programming and robotics for education based on STEAM and Maker projects.

Many of the participants have already worked together this year, connecting remotely from their countries, and meeting in person at Faberllull will help them move forward and share their projects. Over this week, they will re-think the teaching and purpose of computer sciences, connecting the virtual and physical worlds to better integrate the maker tools they already use (Snap!, Microblocks, Snap4Ardiuno, TurtleStitch, etc.) and reflect on the challenges of computer-science education in the era of artificial intelligence.

The reflections from this residency will be shared at Robolot 2025, in the STEAMakers projects fair on Friday 9 May and the programming and robotics innovation conference on Saturday 10 May.

STEAM projects contribute globalised learning that encourages research, dialogue and critical thinking. Maker culture is about being curious, imaginative, committed, persistent, optimistic, taking risks, searching for resources and sharing them.
