Collective residences

From Monday, 1 February 2021 to Friday, 26 February 2021

The first residency we did on the energy transition was a success. The reasons and causes that led to it are not only still valid but now even more serious.

We’re at a tipping point because we’ve been able to predict the disastrous consequences that can come from using fossil fuel energy. We’re at a crucial moment of both individual and collective responsibilities: we’ve created the technology necessary and have solved many issues; we are aware of the consequences and know how to avoid them. It is a debate that goes beyond technical issues and science, moving into politics and ethics, historical thinking that projects into the future.

The challenges this future poses are varied and complex. They test us as individuals and as a society, as active and passive players in the causes and consequences of technological development.

This is why, at faberllull Olot, we believe it is essential to tackle this topic again and look at it seriously, not based on utopian or apocalyptic scenarios. So, we are calling all engineers, architects and ecologists, but also economists, sociologists and historians, as well as other types of professionals, to submit projects in the lines of work and thought discussed above.

The stay will be at faberllull Olot from 1 to 26 February 2021.

Deadline for applications: November 19, 2020
