Collective residencies / Residency for illustrators to cooperate with International publishers - 2026 / Olot
MAR GUIXÉ ANGLÈS
From Monday, 9 November 2026 to Friday, 20 November 2026
Bio
Born in Barcelona in 1986, Mar Guixé holds a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona. After training in various creative disciplines such as illustration, comics, costume design and gastronomy, she combined her studies with a range of work experiences that gave her a broad perspective and a strong capacity for observation and analysis.
She has been a freelance illustrator and art director since 2018, working remotely for publishers, brands, institutions and companies at home and abroad. Her practice centres on creating visual universes with a particular sensitivity to narrative, culture and gastronomy, approaching each project with the same rigour, commitment and involvement regardless of its scale or dimension.
Project
During her creative residency at Faberllull, Mar will develop a children's/young adult editorial project for German publisher Gerstenberg. Set in a natural history museum, the work will give voice to its inhabitants — stuffed animals, skeletons, fossils and other exhibits — who will become the stars of a story of adventure and personal growth. Through this scenario, the project will address issues such as difference, identity, a sense of belonging and the value of unity and friendship.
