JORDI RIBERAYGUA MAGALLON
Director of photography
Andorra la Vella (Andorra)

Bio

A director of photography based in Andorra, his approach centres on the philosophy of Natural Cinema, a methodology that prioritises narrative integrity and creative technical resolution over the grandiloquence of equipment. This vision has led him to spearhead visual production projects where every shot enhances the reality of the environment. From directing commercial campaigns to developing expedition documentaries and cultural projects, his work combines rigorous cinematic planning with the ability to adapt to the most demanding environments.

His practice is consolidated through the advanced use of tools such as DaVinci Resolve, establishing an artistic identity that fuses traditional cinematographic technique with a contemporary sensibility, always focused on telling stories that respect the essence of the landscape and its protagonists.

Project

The film project to be developed as part of the Faberllull residency consists of writing a detailed preamble for a future debut feature film. The piece is born from the desire to fuse the rigour and observation of documentary film with the narrative power of fiction, exploring rural values and the intrinsic relationship between Pyrenean culture and the natural environment. Far from grandiloquence, the aim is to capture an identity of its own with an honest gaze, demonstrating that local cinema has a transformative capacity and professional appeal. Ultimately, it is about creating a narrative that not only entertains but acts as a social mirror, highlighting the environment and living memory to recall, from a contemporary perspective, where we come from and where we are going.
