DARIA VYVOLOKINA
PhD student
Moscow (Russia)

Bio

Daria Vyvolokina was born in Moscow. She is a philologist specialising in Catalan language and literature. She was educated at the Faculty of Philology of Lomonosov Moscow State University, where she obtained a degree in Iberian-Romance Linguistics and a master's in the History of European and American Literature with honours. She is currently doing a PhD in Catalan literature, focusing on the work of Salvador Espriu.

Daria expanded her education through studies in Spanish, French and Catalan at various institutions, as well as language stays organised by the Institut Ramon Llull in Catalan-speaking lands. She also has artistic education in painting. She is proficient in several foreign languages, allowing her to develop an intercultural perspective in her academic and professional research.

Project

At Faberllull, Daria will work on "The Work of Salvador Espriu in the Context of European Literary Existentialism." In it, she will investigate the author’s multifaceted legacy from a new perspective, incorporating his texts into the history of existential thought. Like his French contemporaries Sartre and Camus, Espriu drew on categories such as choice, freedom, responsibility, the absurd and the human condition. Daria’s main academic interest is to delve deeper into contemporary Catalan literature and broaden her knowledge of the cultural and philosophical context of Espriu's work.
