Bio

Mags Amond is a retired teacher of natural science and computer science. She is an independent scholar and advocate for peer-to-peer open professional learning in education. As a former Coderdojo Ireland and CodeWeek EU Ambassador her focus has always been on supporting women in education, ed tech, and computer science. She is currently an active volunteer member of the Computers in Education Society of Ireland (CESI.ie), in particular participant-led fringe activities for sharing practice. Mags is involved in the Ireland chapter of the global Turtlestitch community; the intersection between Turtlestitch programming knowledge and process knowledge - both necessary to translate the desired design into the desired physical output - is where her interest in learning lies.
