Bio

Gabriel Michaud is an associate professor of second language acquisition and applied linguistics. His research focuses on learner engagement, task-based language teaching, second language writing, and written corrective feedback. He has published widely in leading journals such as Studies in Second Language Acquisition, System, and the Canadian Modern Language Review. He is a co-founder of the Montreal Institute for Second Language Acquisition (MonISLA) and winner of the Larry Vandergrift Award for Excellence in Applied Linguistics. As of January 2026, he is coeditor in chief of the Canadian Journal of Applied Linguistics.
