Bio
Anna Joan Casademont is professor of linguistics at the University of TÉLUQ and lecturer in the Mineure [Minor] en études catalanes in Catalan studies at the Université de Montréal, both in Quebec. With a PhD in Language Sciences and Applied Linguistics from Pompeu Fabra University, her research and teaching interests include language learning, corpus linguistics, terminology, semantic and syntactic variation, phraseology, sociolinguistics and translation-related issues. Her working languages are Catalan, French, English, Japanese and Spanish. Her research has for several years focused on the learning and teaching of second and additional languages in various contexts (with a special interest in the Catalan language). She has a master's degree in museology from the Université du Québec à Montréal and is president of Toy Museum of Catalonia/Figueres Foundation.
