ÀNGELS MARGARIT
Dancer, choreographer, teacher and curator
Barcelona

Bio

Àngels Margarit is dedicated to dance in its different dimensions: as a dancer, choreographer, teacher and curator. In 1985 the performance Mudances provided a name for the structure whereby she would develop her projects, which enjoyed excellent international exposure from the outset. Her creations have been co-produced and presented in more than 25 countries and have been a benchmark for dance in our country since the mid-1980s.

Throughout her career, she has collaborated with numerous artists and, in parallel with her own creations, she has promoted different projects around the creation, pedagogy, transmission and dissemination of dance. As a teacher, she has helped train new generations and has carried out and collaborated in various pedagogical programmes for different institutions. As a curator, among others she promoted and directed the creation Tensdansa, which she halted temporarily to direct the Mercat de les Flors theatre from 2017 to 2025. She has received numerous prestigious national and international awards and distinctions.

Project

At Faberllull, she will be working on two projects. First with Souvenir Tossols, a site in the public rural landscape of Olot for the Sismògraf 2026 festival which is a reactivation of Souvenir, an intervention in public space created in 2004 as part of the Urbs project, a laboratory on public space by Àngels Margarit / Cia. Mudances. Souvenir is a participatory intervention designed to be held in green spaces and areas where participants are invited to follow a sequence of movements through words and the gaze.

She will also be working with Blow up (provisional title), which is an initial search for a site to be viewed from the terrace of the Hotel Riu Fluvià. The desire arose when creating solo d'Hotel Riu#102 within the Panorama festival, a work that deals with time and the perspective of film that Blow up aims to expand from the landscape.
