Bio

Performer and independent artist, Ilija Luginbühl started studying dance and music in Switzerland when he was a child, from 1996 she attended Scuola Teatro Dimitri and got his degree in 1999. In 1999, he (co)founded Trickster-p a multidisciplinary art project moving along the boundaries and contaminations of different art expressions. Initially his research focused specifically on the centrality and physicality of the actor; as time went on, his focus has shifted from a more narrow definition of theatre to include expressions that transgress genre boundaries. To date his artistic projects have been presented extensively in Europe, Asia, Australia, North and South America.

Project

Presenting the performance Book is a Book is a Book at Teatre Principal d’Olot. A fascinating, almost magical object, the book appears as a simple bound volume yet opens windows onto other worlds, becoming a capsule for travel through time and space. This linear yet complex idea sparked the performance. A previously unreleased book, created especially for the piece, weaves time, space, dream, and memory, inviting audiences to embrace imagination, expand perception, and embark on a journey of and within the mind.
