Bio

Director, performer and independed artist Cristina Galbiati started studying theatre in Italy at the beginning of 1990s, in 1994 she moved to Switzerland where she attended Scuola Teatro Dimitri and got her degree in 1997. In 1999, she (co)founded Trickster-p a multidisciplinary art project moving along the boundaries and contaminations of different art expressions. Her poetics strongly privileges an essential aesthetics which departs from the narrative to delve into the level of imageries and evocations. To date her artistic projects has been presented extensively in Europe, Asia, Australia, North and South America.

Project

Trickster-p will present the performance Book is a Book is a Book at Teatre Principal d’Olot. A fascinating, almost magical object, the book appears as a simple bound volume yet opens windows onto other worlds, becoming a capsule for travel through time and space. This linear yet complex idea sparked the performance. A previously unreleased book, created especially for the piece, weaves time, space, dream, and memory, inviting audiences to embrace imagination, expand perception, and embark on a journey of and within the mind.
