Bio
Francesc Foguet i Boreu is a professor of literature and theatre studies at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the UAB. With a PhD in Catalan philology from the university and a diploma in theatre theory and criticism from the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona, he has specialised in the study of modern and contemporary Catalan theatre, the repression of Catalan writers, theatre censorship during the Franco dictatorship and the Republican theatrical exile.
His works include Teatre guerra i revolució. Barcelona, 1936-1939 (2005) (War and Revolution Theatre: Barcelona, 1936-1939), El teatro catalán en el exilio republicano de 1939 (Catalan Theatre in the Republican Exile of 1939) (2016), Els límits del silenci. La censura del teatre català durant el franquisme (The Limits of Silence: The Censorship of Catalan Theatre During the Franco Regime) (with Sharon Feldman, 2016) and Maria Aurèlia Capmany, escriptora compromesa (1963-1977) (Maria Aurèlia Capmany, Committed Writer) (1963-1977) (2018).
He currently heads up the Centre for Research in Performing Arts at the UAB and coordinates the RIITLE along with Sandra María Orteg
