Bio
Bertha Díaz (Ecuador) is an independent researcher in performing arts whose work explores the intersections between body, thought, and writing through research-creation practices. Her interests include eco-affective resonances, ecologies of knowledge, and experimental pedagogies. She holds a Master’s in Live Performance Arts (Université Libre de Bruxelles, Universidad de Sevilla, and Université Paris VIII) and a PhD in Research in Arts, Humanities, and Education from the University of Castilla-La Mancha.
Since 2010, she has combined university teaching and research with curatorial, editorial, and artistic practices. She co-conceived and directed the School of Performing Arts at the University of the Arts of Ecuador, and she currently co-directs Manso Rojo Ediciones, an independent publishing house dedicated to research-creation and critical reflection on the arts. Her work has been presented internationally in Mexico, Colombia, Portugal, Cuba, Brazil, Spain, France, Canada, and Ecuador.
