TANIA ZOUNTSA
From Monday, 17 November 2025 to Monday, 24 November 2025
Bio
Tania Zountsa is a saxophonist, composer, and interdisciplinary artist from Greece, currently based in Amsterdam. Her work moves between sound, drawing, and improvisation, often inspired by nature’s cycles, ancient traditions, and personal memory. With a deep interest in ritual, movement, and transformation, she creates music that is alive and instinctual—where each performance is a new unfolding. She composes for her own ensembles and collaborates with dancers, filmmakers, and visual artists. Her debut album AWAKE was released in 2022, and she has been supported by the Norma Fund for her experimental duo MARUSKES. Tania is also part of TREEHOUSE NDSM’s artist community, where she teaches and develops new projects exploring the connection between sound, space, the body, and the ways we experience presence and transformation through art.
Project
At Faberllull, she will focus on her solo project S ☉ U L T ▽ N, which combines original music, spoken word, personal recordings, and projected visuals to explore memory, identity, and the act of listening. Rooted in personal and cultural heritage, the project unfolds through immersive, multi-sensory performances. During the residency, Tania will continue developing Echoes of the Unheard, one piece within a series of works that make up her solo project. This layered work blends live music, text, and real-time visuals, focusing on silence, the body as a site of memory, and the emotional depth of sound
