Bio

Arianna Giménez Beltrán (Barcelona, 1987). A graduate of Political Science and Audiovisual Communication, she specialised in photojournalism through postgraduate studies at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, visual storytelling at the Danish School of Media & Journalism and creative documentary at the University of Valle, Colombia.

She began her career in the audiovisual world in 2014 as a visual journalist, becoming a finalist for the Barcelona City Art Award and winning the Generalitat of Catalonia’s Clic Grant for Young Photojournalism with Hungerland, a multimedia project on the effects of the 2008 economic crisis on the population's right to food. Her images have been published in El Periódico de Catalunya, El País and VICE. In 2017, she moved into field production, working with outlets such as the BBC, Al Jazeera and Channel 4 News, with which she continues to collaborate today.

She wrote and directed Cremada (Burnt), her first fiction short film, which is currently in distribution. El Llindar (The Threshold) is her début feature.

Project

During her stay at Faberllull, she will write the script for the feature film El Llindar.

A lack of self-esteem and pressure at work lead Antonio to accept a perverse assignment: to harass a colleague. When she reports him, the company closes in on him, singling him out as the sole perpetrator. Pushed into ostracism, Antonio sees only one way out.
