Bio

Dominic Keown is Emeritus Professor of Catalan Studies at Fitzwilliam College, University of Cambridge. He has published extensively on the ideological dimension of Catalan literature, with monographs on contemporary poetry, Hispanic cinema and cultural studies. He was editor of A Companion to Catalan Culture (2011) and has produced bilingual critical editions of key works by Salvat-Papasseit, Valle-Inclán, Joan Fuster and Vicent Andrés Estellés.

In 1997, Dominic was the founding editor of the Journal of Catalan Studies and General Editor of the Anglo-Catalan Society's Occasional Papers, positions that he held through to his retirement in 2021.

He is a member of the assessment committee of the Inter-University Institute of Valencian Philology and Honorary Life President of the Anglo-Catalan Society. In 2023 he won the Ramon Llull International Prize for Catalan Studies and Cultural Diversity.
