Bio

Sílvia Feixas i Gras is currently a cultural officer at La Garriga Local Council and has been the director of the La Garriga Theatre since 2004. Born in Roda de Ter, Sílvia studied social and cultural anthropology and social education and has a postgraduate degree in citizen engagement and community development.

Before working at La Garriga council, she managed a civic centre in Granollers, where she acquired robust experience in cultural and community promotion. Her council career began in the youth area and she went on to work in citizen engagement. With more than 20 years' experience, her work has helped move the dial on the municipality's cultural and community offerings.

In addition to her responsibility as a cultural officer and theatre director, Sílvia manages the municipal art and exhibition hall and has made it an active, benchmark space for local culture. Her expertise and commitment to culture have aided the social and cultural revitalisation of La Garriga.
