TATIANA DONOSO
From Monday, 26 May 2025 to Friday, 30 May 2025
Bio
Tatiana Donoso was born in Chile but grew up in Barcelona after her family fled from Pinochet and the military coup.
With a degree in Photography, she worked in this field for over ten years, where in addition to publishing in magazines and Sunday supplements, she developed art projects with a Fotopres'99 grant from La Caixa and a Generación 2005 grant from Caja Madrid.
After a few years dedicated to raising her daughters, she resumed her artistic practice, incorporating embroidery, family archives and poetry into the projects “Madre Nebulosa”, “Mi segundo nombre es Soledad” and “Un álbum familiar de cures”, which have been shown at the BCN Photographic Archive and the Maritime Museum, as well as in Can Basté and other spaces in the Network of Civic Centres. She also received a Temporal 2023 grant from ICUB, the BCN Crea 2023 grant from ICUB and the SCAN Tarragona Archive Residency grant and took part in the fifth Lluerna Festival at the Miró Foundation.
Project
During her residency, Tatiana Donoso will work on her project “Poètiques tèxtils. Una costura feta de paraules (Textile Poetics: A Seam Made from Words), where she conducts research from documentary poetry into the oral memory of women linked to the textile world and puts it into dialogue with a poetic fiction of the possible memory of fabrics, work tools and clothing, through research in fields such as textile archaeology, botany and the textile industry.
