ALBERT CHAMORRO
From Tuesday, 22 April 2025 to Saturday, 26 April 2025
Bio
Albert Chamorro (Barcelona) works at the intersection of essay, live art and light art. His research is based on finding new ways to encourage critical thinking and reflection in essay-writing, beyond the conventional ones.
He trained in the Dramatic Arts at Institut del Teatre specialising in Scenography and is studying a master in Philosophy for Contemporary Challenges at the UOC. He is also doing a master in Science, Technology and Innovation at the University of Salamanca. He is currently working on a PhD thesis on Theatre Studies at the UAB, on the function of scenography in the political practices of our contemporary world.
In 2020, he created the Urati laboratori for research in art and philosophy, where he creates art proposals and carries out tasks in production, concept and directing, in collaboration with spaces such as Festival TNT, Teatre Lliure, El Born - Centre de Cultura i Memòria, Festival Grec, Joan Brossa Foundation and CCCB.
Project
While at Faberllull Olot, Alberto Chamorro will work on the project that won him the Hivernem 2025 grant titled Qui té dret a amagar el rostre?. Through this project
Chamorro proposes a research process to question the motives that have led people throughout history to feel the need to cover their faces while in public.
