Bio

Paula Belzunegui, originally from Pamplona, currently lives and studies in Basel, where she is finishing her studies with the Helix Trio under Anton Kernjak, Claudio Martínez-Mehner, Zoltán Fejérvári, Silvia Simionescu and Anna Gebert. She has won many awards, including the International Music Competition “Salzburg” Grand Prize Virtuoso and Giulio Rospigliosi competition, among others.

She has done masterclasses with musicians like Paul Badura-Skoda, Zoltan Kocsis, Imre Rohmann, Andras Kemenes, Dénes Várjon, Steven Isserlis, Anthony Marwood and Eldar Nebolsin.

With the Helix Trio, she has won several competitions, including the 2024 BBVA Montserrat Alavedra Chamber Music Award and the 2022 Orpheus Swiss Chamber Music Competition. She has performed at festivals and halls such as the Petit Palau de la Música de Catalunya, Bern Piano Trio Fest, Swiss Chamber Music Festival and Musikdorf Ernen Festival. Starting this 24-25 academic year, she is also accompanying professor Edgar Manyak’s trombone class at the Hochschule für Musik in Basel.
