ALEX REVERS
From Monday, 11 November 2024 to Monday, 18 November 2024
Bio
With a degree in Cinematography, Alex Revers has specialised in directing and is currently pursuing an advanced master’s degree in Screenwriting at ESCAC (Cinema and Audiovisual School of Catalonia).
He wrote and directed the short film Pollo Hong Kong o el éxodo de las francesas quemadas (2023), which follows a day in the life of a young woman, Pili, who has spent her entire life in Lloret de Mar. In a garish and oversaturated world, a particularly dreadful day prompts her to leave her hometown to escape the bleak future awaiting her in the tourist-driven “paradise” her home has become.
Another project he co-wrote and co-directed is La Despedida (2022), an animated short about the separation of two friends who go their separate ways. It portrays love and insecurities around becoming independent and letting go, realised with various animation styles and techniques, from punk aesthetics to stop-motion.
Currently, he works in communication for film festivals such as the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival and the Barcelona Independent Film Festival (L’Alternativa).
Project
At Faberllull, Alex will be working on the script for the series Les pixapixies, co-written with Maria Tarragó.
