Bio

Ethel Rohan is an award winning essayist, novelist, and short story writer. Her latest book is the short story collection IN THE EVENT OF CONTACT (Dzanc Books, 2021). She's published with The Irish Times, The Stinging Fly, The New York Times, World Literature Today, The Washington Post, PEN America, and elsewhere.

Project

I'm excited to continue work on a collection of personal and researched essays titled GONE GODFATHER.
The idea for a book on missing persons, places, and parts was sparked by my godfather's mysterious disappearance shortly after my birth and draws on other absences, both personal and public, that have haunted or inspired my imagination.
