Bio

Playwright, theater director and university professor. Director of Performing Arts at the Cientifica del Sur (Peru). He is currently a PhD researcher in Theater Studies at the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona (UAB), where he also obtained a Master's Degree in Theater Studies. He has a Master's degree in Screenplay for Film and Television from the Carlos III University of Madrid, thanks to a grant from the Carolina Foundation as well as a Bachelor of Journalism from the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC). Co-founder and director of the theater company BreakTeatro, and BreakLab, a training laboratory for the performing arts. In 2008 he won Third Place in the Second Peruvian Dramaturgy Contest "We put your work on stage" of the British Peruvian Cultural Center with the play "El Duende", which he directed in 2010. He was also one of the winners of the New Peruvian Dramaturgy Festival Sala de Parto, of the Teatro La Plaza in 2013 with his play “Bésame Mucho”. He has written and directed “El Duende” (Lima, 2010), “Break” (Lima, 2011), “Botella Borracha” (Lima, 2012), “Rockstars” (Lima, 2013), “Bésame Mucho” (Lima, 2014 ), “Cuatro en Raya” in “Areas Comunes” (Lima, 2015), “Kepher (la noche del escarabajo)” (Lima, 2020) and “Austente” (Lima, 2020). He has directed “Aquello” by Vanessa Vizcarra (Lima, 2015), “Dramatis Personae” by Gonzalo Rodríguez Risco (Lima, 2017). "Comer manzanas" by Rocío Limo (2016-17, Barcelona), "El dramaturgo" (Barcelona, 2016 and Lima, 2018) and "Piña" (Lima, 2019), both by Joan F. Font, and "Años Luz" by Federico Abril (Lima, 2018-19). He studied Acting in Peru with Roberto Ángeles, directing with Diego La Hoz and dramaturgy with Mariana de Althaus and César de María in Lima. He has also participated in dramaturgy workshops with Esteve Soler (Barcelona) and Martin Crimp (England) at the Sala Beckett in Barcelona.

Project

As a participant in the residency, I will be in charge of the organization of an individual conference, I will lead one of the reading clubs selecting a Peruvian theatrical text, I will participate in a round table and debate on theoretical references for the study of violence in the theater, selecting a theoretical reference and I will participate in a working meeting on the creation of RIITLE. I will also participate in knowledge transfer activities proposed by Faberllull.
