Bio
Assoaciated professor in Vilnius University, Faculty of Philology, Institute for the Languages and Cultures of the Baltic. She has a PhD in Russian literature and teaches courses on Russian classical and ancient literature, Russian novel, Russian drama, Russian poetry, Dostoevsky’s Art. She also performs as supervisor for BA, Ma and PhD thesis. Her main interests are Russian literature of the 19th century with a focus on Russian novel of Dostoevsky, Russian literary criticism and Russian christian tradition in literature.
Project
As part of this residence on 'Negotiating Childlessness and Non-Motherhood', I will be focusing my attention on the question how Russian male literature of the 19th century represents characters of childless women or women who have lost their children
