Project

I coordinate the European project Be (P)Art. Grow with arts, led by PEN Català. A project that seeks to build bridges between young people, artists and their works in cooperation with four European partners: Fundación Uxío Novoneyra (Galicia), Udruzenje Krokodil (Serbia), Szepirok Tarsasaga (Hungary) and UC Leuven-Limburg (Belgium).

It was the second time I came to Faber. The first time I did an individual stay that helped me to finish my last theatrical text. At that time I was designing the activities of a European project led by PEN Català and I thought it would be wonderful if I could take a group of young authors from all over Europe to this place surrounded by beech trees and volcanoes, and offer them a space to write and share experiences. I talked about it with Pepa and Francesc and said and done, we set up a literary stay in the framework of the Be (Part) Grow with Arts project that seeks to promote the careers of young writers.

For seven days six young authors from four European countries have found a refuge in which to resume writing and develop new projects without interruptions. They also had the opportunity to talk to each other. They have talked about writing, the craft of writing, editing and publishing, chapels, literary circuits, awards and translations, but also about freedom of expression, populism, minority languages, LGTBI rights, and everything that their curious minds have wanted to ask and learn. I think they take with them an experience that enriches them as people. And maybe later, their paths will cross again and they will remember with a smile what they lived in Olot those autumn days.

And as always, thanks to Gavina and Pepa for taking care of all of us and making us feel at home.
