Bio
Irene Solà (Malla, 1990) studied Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona and a Masters in Literature, Film and Visual Culture at the University of Sussex. Her first poetry collection ‘Bèstia’ (Galerada, 2012) won the 48th Amadeu Oller Poetry Prize for young unpublished poets and it has been translated into English and published by Shearsman Books. Her first novel ‘Els dics’ won the Documenta Prize (L’Altra Editorial 2018) and ‘Canto jo i la muntanya balla’ won the Llibres Anagrama Prize 2019 and is currently being translated into several languages. Her art works and texts have been exhibited and read in several art centers and festivals around Europe.
Project
During my stay at Faber I will work on the research process for my next novel that will tackle themes such as memory, oral narrative and knowledge, certain historical moments, motherhood, death and the ghost.
