For the third year in a row, Faberllull is hosting a paid creative residency for five illustrators from Catalonia and the Balearic Islands to work on projects proposed by five international publishing houses. This residency aims to help Catalan and Balearic authors get published abroad, as well as providing incentives for international publishers to commission local professionals.

This year’s participating publishers were Albatros Media from Czech Republic, Coccinella from Italy, Data Status from Serbia, Lecturita from Argentina, Metaichmio from Greece, Mixtvision from Germany and Telos Editora from Brazil. Based on their projects, nearly 40 candidates answered the open call to submit work proposals. After the assessment period, three of these publishers chose five illustrators to start a professional collaboration that will end with the residency at Faberllull.

For ten days in October, the three people selected will work on developing their projects for Coccinella,Mixtvision and Telos Editora, who will in turn monitor the creative process through virtual meetings. At the end of their stay, based on the results, the illustrators and publishers will decide whether to sign a deal to publish the work.
